Weight Management Coaching

Based on a complimentary assessment my coaching program is customised to your individual specific needs. To receive an assessment form, contact me and I will email one to you.

This assessment will help me identify what stage you are at, gauge your readiness for change, and uncover the specific areas we will need to work on if you think coaching will help. Together, we will develop a plan that will work for you.

The aim of coaching is to help you:

  • Understand the damage that dieting has caused and does cause so that you can free yourself – and STOP DIETING once and for all.
  • Work out when, what and how much to eat yourself – not via external control.
  • Recognise, and change disordered eating behaviours (emotional eating, restrictive eating, overeating, food and weight obsession, etc.)
  • Understand the different levels of hunger and fullness.
  • Develop strategies to manage situations that trigger you to overeat
  • Stop depriving yourself of the foods you really like to eat.
  • Change your relationship with food.

Mindwise Bodywise coaching provides the groundwork in establishing “attuned eating” by helping you undo the diet mentality, use positive self-talk, tackle overeating and emotional eating, meet your true needs (instead of eating), increase your self-esteem, and understand the significant role that self-care plays. It will help you break free from the typical diet cycle and to enter the Mindwise Bodywise cycle (see diagrams below).

The program runs for a minimum of 8 weeks and is facilitated by email and/or telephone. It provides complete personal attention, and offers flexibility and confidentiality. To fully benefit, participants should ideally commit to 8 weeks, because each week builds upon the previous weeks’ work.

Each week you will receive some information sheets and written exercises (yes, you get homework!). The telephone/email option enables you to call me fortnightly for a 10 minute telephone coaching session at a mutually suitable and pre-determined time.

During the eight weeks you have unlimited email access (response time of 24-48 hours) for advice, support or to ask any questions.
